Here you can read what details we ask for, why, how long we keep them and what rights you have.
Who we are
Ginger & Garlic is a catering company run by Staschja Bruls and Philippe Toufexis, based at Batavierlaan 24, 2912 SG Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, the Netherlands. We are registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 80720196 and our VAT number is NL003478963B36. Questions about your data? Email us at info@gingerandgarlic.nl.
What we ask for
If you fill in the quote form, we ask for your name and email address. You may also add your company name, phone number, the date of your event, the number of guests, the type of event and a short message. We do not ask for more, because we get in touch with you personally to make you a good proposal.
If you email or message us directly, we process whatever you put in that message yourself.
Why we use it
We use your details to answer your request, to prepare a quote and, if you accept it, to carry out and invoice the work. We are allowed to do so because it is necessary to prepare and perform an agreement at your request. For invoices, a statutory retention obligation applies as well.
We do not send newsletters and we do not use your details for advertising. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
If your request does not lead to a booking, we keep it for up to two years so that we recognise you if you come back later. If it does lead to a booking, we keep the administration for seven years, as Dutch tax law requires. After that we delete it.
Who we share it with
We only share your details with parties that help us do our work, and no further than needed. Those are Netlify, which hosts our website and processes and stores the requests sent through our quote form, Google Workspace for our email, and our bookkeeper for invoicing. We have agreements with those parties on how they handle your data.
Netlify and Google are American companies, so your details may also be processed outside the European Union. This only happens with appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
If you allow us on our home page to show reviews and Instagram, those load through Trustindex (Google reviews) and Behold (Instagram). Those parties receive technical data such as your IP address. Without your permission they do not load.
Our website itself sets no cookies and uses no visitor statistics. Read more in our cookie policy.
Your rights
You may always ask which data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to how we use it. Email info@gingerandgarlic.nl and we will respond as soon as we can, and within a month at the latest. If you disagree with how we handle it, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
Security and changes
We handle your details with care and limit access to the people who need to work with them, namely Staschja and Philippe. This statement may change if the way we work changes. This version is from September 2026.
